ThePoliticalCat

This is just for you! Thanks for asking! It's been a rough week, and far from over... Tuesday I finally got my car fixed, but it made for a way long day. On Wednesday I got clobbered at work - 24 hrs in which to put together all sorts of budget info. Which I/we did. And then today at the budget meeting, no one even looked at it. I am slowly but totally going mad... But last night was FF night, and they lived up to their half of the bargain by making me lol, many times over. And this am they did it all over again, and I took some pics. Which hopefully I'll post this weekend, even though I'm having to work 6 days this week. In the meantime: Do what you need to do to get ready for March 9th! You've got cats and "kittens" pulling for you, to get better fast and get back home to your lovies!! Pls, keep us posted....

An Incident Report

I heard bad language, which quickly became worse language - Angel was running out of the bathroom, and Cloud was going - help, I need a word here - ballistic? radioactive? something, in the bathtub... I closed the door, and scooped her up, and was shocked by just how mad she was. Comforting her was out of the question. I could tell that she was just barely controlling her instinct to smack the hell out of anyone. She managed not to murder her human, who managed to transport her to the dining room table, which seemed the safest location for releasing the little - again, I need a noun - she was gibbering mad! I did have words with Angel later (not particularly repentant, wouldn't you know).

Reference Desk Blogging

9 minutes to go! All night when I checked out the kittycam, the babes were snoozing, but just now I peeked and they were all a go - wrastlin' and similar. Oh, the cuties!

I Thought They Had Outgrown This Sort of Thing

This morning, sitting at the computer, I heard a horrific crash right behind me. A heavy bookend and several heavy art books had managed to topple over, knocking askew an antique lamp and utterly crushing a weird little bowl that I was fond of... Cyrrie was in the room with me seconds before, and was nowhere to be found for at least an hour after, which is, of course, not the same as proof in the "kitten" court of law. (BTW, he was fine.) (Except for the vacuuming.)

Bed Time LIVE Blogging

I woke up just now to find Angel (on the big pillow by the window) and... Buddy! I love it when Buddy's in/on the bed, because I think of him as the Bed Monster who came out from under the bed.... (Also he's so cute, he melts his mom's heart.....)

Early Birfday Present

A new fleecy blankie from my sister-in-law! It will keep me warm, but don't tell her that it will also give Angel another excuse to abuse - whoops, make that love - his human... (Knead, knead, knead....)

Blurry

But cute...

Wow, Didn't Realize Time Was Going By

Fri was high stress - on top of the recent mechanical car trouble, I went in to renew my dr's license and was told that my name didn't match my ss #. Huh? I had to go to the ss adm, but I think it got worked out... (I'll know for sure when I go back to the mi sos.)
Sat was an extremely long day, work and a party (I know, doesn't sound like me, does it?).
And today was catchup, and I did, at least a little...
The guys are currently FancyFeasting, and Buddy cooperated, thank goodness. (Even as I type, Cyrrie and Angel are lurking on the threshold, beyond which Buddy is hopefully polishing off his FF...)

And Who Made Me Nutz Tonight?

Nope, sorry, not this time. Guess again - no, wait - it will take you 921 guesses, so I might as well just tell you: it was Buddy. And how did he do it? By not eating. I gave everyone FF tonight, and when I went to give Buddy his - in the bedroom, where he's been eating for months - he wasn't going. I tried for at least half an hour to catch him, and he thought it was a great game, but he definitely wasn't going to be caught. I broke out the catnip (munchies, Buddie?) and he still wasn't going to be caught. In the end I put the saucer in front of him and fended off the poachers - he got about half of it down before Cloud moved in. Ever the gentleman, Buddy deferred to the little princess, and the human gave up, totally.

Serious Therapy Blogging, Seriously

In no particular order:
The Moon
I drove home tonight in pouring rain, but it let up just as I got close. On the last block or so, a patch of sky opened up - dark around the edges, way dramatic - with a no longer full but still enormous moon perfectly centered and adorned with lacy little wisps of luminous cloud stuff...
The Car
This morning I went out to feed the birds/squirrels before leaving for work, and there on the driveway was a huge puddle of orangish? pinkish? crud - right under the front end of my car. Yikes! So I went straight to my place of car repair, where the first thing they told me was that they couldn't open my hood. Huh? And when they did open it, the new hood release cable was going to cost $100 plus... Ok, I can deal with that. But then, there's nothing wrong with the "fluid levels or the pressure" - so what is that crud all over my driveway?? They're going to do the tests again tomorrow.
The Library's E Classroom
Temperature around 90'. Plus a high pitched, high volume screaming sound coming from one of the vents - teach under those conditions? Worse yet, learn? Give me a break, and fill in your own adjective.
The Angel
This morning Angel was making me nutz - How cute am I, he asked himself, and set out to push the envelop... Now that's my best memory of the day, beating out even the beautiful moon... Oh, Angel, YAC! (Cute, cuter, cutest!)

Breakfast Blogging

Hmm, I hesitate to post this. On Sunday we did some laundry. On Tuesday said laundry is still piled on the dining room table, being enjoyed as blankies by cats and "kittens"... In fact there's hardly any room for anything else, not even the human's cup of coffee. Never the less she spent a little time there this morning, reading an old newspaper, listening to Stephanie Miller and getting sweet purrs from Banshee the Beautiful and Lucy the Lovely / Lovable / Lumpy... (I'm doing my best to keep her combed.)

Homecoming Surprise

Since I've been using the side door, they don't all meet me the way they used to when I came in the front. Usually it's just the Droid, in fact, and I sort of hunt the others down. Tonight there was a crowd in the kitchen: Buddy, Cloud, Cyrrie, Banshee, Lucy - and when I got to the dining room there were AreToo and Petunnia, on the dining room table. I had to call for Angel, who showed after a minute or so, looking way sleepy... Nothing liie a full house.

Brave "Kitten" Escapes Being Watered By Human

Cyrrie was in the garden window, watching as dozens of birds and one extremely fat squirrel shared this morning's allotment of birdseed. The human was watering the house plants, and she moved toward the window to give the fuscia a drink. "Trapped", the C boy totally panicked, but he faced down the watering can and made his escape anyway. (Never been watered in his life!)

Today

The human shared a piece of prosciutto with the 3 foodies - Cloud, Cyrrie, AreToo, Cloud, Cyrrie, AreToo, Cloud, Cyrrie, Aretoo, C- well, you get the idea. As we came to the end, AreToo got the last bit, while Cloud and Cyrrie nommed theirs. Unfortunately he dropped his, and while trying to get it back up off the floor, the siblings closed in. Cyrrie went straight for the ham, while Cloud was more strategic - she bopped AreToo, who then succeeded in recapturing his bit and ran off with it down the hallway... Justice. Sometimes...

Moon Blogging

According to the calendar, tomorrow night is the full moon, but it's hard to imagine a fuller one than is beaming down on me right now through the east facing computer room window. So, so beautiful...

Chess Masters

A little while ago Petunnia was in the bedroom, on the floor, looking up at the corner of the bed, meditating on an eventual ascent. Angel was behind her, looking down from the dresser, and Buddy had just come in. Of course Angel had to jump to the corner, thwarting Petunnia. And of course the human had to admonish Angel, and make him settle in a more reasonable spot. And of course Petunnia - with a clear shot to the corner - instead moved toward Buddy - crouching under a pile of quilts and blankies that were just about falling off the bed - no ascent possible there - but at least she was so close to Buddy that he was in turn totally thwarted. In the end, Angel snoozed on a pillow, Petunnia purred away on Mom's lap, and Buddy kneaded the blankies and got petted to his heart's content. And AreToo joined us on the bed, and Cyrrie came in to birdwatch from the dresser. But first we had to go through all the maneuvers.

Two Tales Of The Cloudling

I
A couple of days ago, the Angel cornered Cloud in the bathroom and much bad language ensued. The human rescued Cloud, and tried, in vain, to soothe her. I held her in my arms like a baby, and massaged her little feets. She'd start to purr, her eyes would glaze over, and then she'd fight to hold onto her mad - her eyes would sparkle right up, and the chirps would commence. Mom would rub more feets, rub the face, etc., and Cloud would downshift into purrs, then snap right back into mad. Eventually the human gave up and just looked for a place to release her where she wouldn't happen to anybody else...
II
Yesterday the human again met up with Cloud in the bathroom. Remembering the day before, the well-meaning human closed the door for some uninterrupted quality time with Miss Cloud. Cloud sat on her lap, purring and drooling (what can I say? it's what she does when she's happy), and then someone began to beat on the door. Which wasn't closed all that tightly. You guessed it: in popped Angel, and Cloud began to modulate her purrs with chirps. It sounded sort of like a car trying to start. It was very funny, but please don't tell her I said so...

This AM

Ok, so I'd been up once already, around 4:00 am, to take some pills... That's how I knew the crunchies bowls were in good shape! But this morning the Angel wanted me up in the worst way - he even resorted to nose-patting, which is adorable if you're not trying to sleep through it. Around 7:00ish, I gave in. When I hit the kitchen there were nuked crunchies everywhere - 2 possibly 3 bowls had gone over. (How could I have slept throught all that?)

Homecoming, The Re-Do

Tonight Cyrrie repeated his performance of yesterday, just less copiously - perhaps because I wasn't gone quite as long...

Have You Seen This??
