Supervisors

Just as Petunnia and Cloud are the senior and junior supervisors of water replenishment operations, Cyrano has taken responsibility for the upstairs kitty litter box... Everytime the human cleans or adds new litter, Cyrrie is right there, being "helpful". Human wonders: What are his criteria for a job well done? Is he looking for proper depth? A nice Zen pattern, perhaps?? What???

Sweet P!

With her human under the weather, Petunnia takes over, guarding the bed and making sure that no other cat - or kitten! - gets close enough to contribute their negative ions.. ! (But she had to sleep sometimes, so....)

What's A Poor Human To Do?

One minute she's clipping the tags off a new pair of gloves (a gift, no less)... The next she's seeing a guilty looking kitten dashing down the hallway with something suspicious in his mouth. When she rescues her new glove, it is sodden with kitten-spit... Kitten is quite reproachful when the wet glove is hung up out of reach.

Territory, Moves, Etc.

For a while, everybody is comfy: The human is reading; Banshee and Buddy are beside her, and Petunnia is at the foot of the bed. Petunnia leaves on some mysterious errand of her own, but when she returns she no longer wants the foot of the bed. After a lot of pacing and peeking to figure out just where all the bodies are (the human is saying, Be good, be careful), Petunnia finally leaps, landing half on the human and half on Banshee, neither of whom are exactly pleased. Banshee leaves, Petunnia takes her place, and tries to eyeball Buddy off the bed as well... (It doesn't work nearly as well when the victim refuses to wake up.)

Inventory

Toonya is on the bed; Buddy is on the Morris chair; Lucy is on a blankie on the dining room table; the kittens have the couch... But Banshee is on the move, not sure if today is a medicine day or not - she's gotten very adept at not getting cornered! (It makes her very hard to count, too.)

Cross Your Fingers

Good news for Banshee - we get to try giving her her medicine every other day now... Kittens, however, are concerned - what if less medicine = less treats???

Poor Excuses

Human tries to explain - I had to go places, and do things!
Cats and kittens explain right back - You're not allowed to "go places" or "do things" - what do we pay you for, afterall? Priorities: 1) Love us and sweet-talk us, 2) Fancy Feast, etc., and 3) tell our stories! A whole week's worth of cute wasted!!

More On Toys

What kind of kittens have whole items of furniture as toys? Their latest trick is to hang from one corner of the dining room table and viciously beat up the table cloth! And they both do it!! As always we suspect Cloud of being ring leader, while faithful Cyrrie follows in her paw steps... (Cyrrie thinks he should get more credit.)

Fig Leaves

Of late, the human has been finding fig leaves on the floor of the living room, where the poor neeglected fig tree lives in a west facing window. The human blamed herself, but in fact the problem is not neglect but rather active plant abuse. Just as she trained Cloud in art of water-spilling, Petunnia seems to have introduced Cyrrie to the joys of plant abuse! There he was, perched precariously on the thin wooden back of the Morris chair, standing up on 2 feet to swat energetically at the figs leaves, which fall after 2 or 3 good swats... And then, of course, he can stomp the leaves, chase them, bite them, etc. (Why is the human going on and on about having your own toys, etc.???)

Updates

Banshee: Bansh is doing pretty well, now - both about taking her medicine, and not having attacks... When we finish out the medicine, we'll go back to see her doctor.
Noses: Two smacked noses, actually dating back to the human's overnight in Grand Rapids. And once again, nobody's talking. Is it a case of mutual smacking? Or?? The possibilities are, if not endless, at least many.
Pumpkins: What kind of kitten eats pumpkin guts???
