New Regimen

Now, when the human leaves the house, she has a new checklist:
  • Count cats
  • Check levels of food, water, kitty litter
  • Say, Be good, be sweet
  • And, extremely important, throw the lint catcher back down the basement stairs...

What Became Of Banshee

Surprise, surprise! Banshee did not find her way back home. And even though the human actually advertised, Banshee's humans never came looking for her. So Banshee lived for a couple of weeks in the grandhuman's forsythia bush, and ate Fancy Feast, and finally the human packaged her up, took her to the vet's, and then home to live in the attic for a few more days while negotiations went on with 919 cats, who soon became 920 cats. And although she is the shiest and quietest of cats, in memory of the loud noise, well, what else could you call her?

The Dining Room Window

Cloud uses it to squirrel watch - Cyrrie now watches his human, at least his coming-home-n0w-human... He watches her come up on the porch. He watches, utterly mystified, as she taps the window at him.... Then she disappears, re-appears in the vestibule, and Cyrrie says, this is just so weird!

Weighing The Cats Update

We quit weighing the cats because the digital scale needs batteries - good news for cats who did not want to be weighed, but also less depressing for the human...

"Pitiful, Pitiful..."

So, the human comes home. The kittens are wailing and gnashing their teeth! The food bowls, you see, are half empty!! The human does top them off, but she does it saying, you know - and we hate it when she says that...!!!

More Musical Plates

It was health food cruchies for breakfast this morning, and just heartbreaking to watch Cloud going from bowl to bowl, obviously hoping to find one with something else in it... Even more pathetic, she went backwards, hoping that, somehow, in the previous 60 or so seconds, the health cruchies had been improved or replaced....

Musical Plates

It's a Fancy Feast night, so - The ones who eat fastest think that the ones who eat slower are getting more FF, when, in fact, the opposite is true... However, there is some justice. The ones who eat fastest eat, well, fast, and make a mess, and leave stuff behind, and run around looking for more, while the ones who eat slower come along behind, and scarf up...

Just How Tiny Is Cloud?

At 15 months old, she officially weighs 6 lbs, 3 oz, and, when squirrel watching, she can stand, sit or lay, quite comfortably, on a window sill less than 3 inches deep...

The True Story of Banshee The Beautiful

It was a bright and sunny day - in fact, it was a hot and humid late Summer Sunday afternoon... The human was visiting the grandhuman, whose house was all closed up, with a noisy old air conditioner making noise in the front room window. And then, over and above the air conditioner, there came another noise, a cat noise, somewhere outside, a loud cat noise! The human opened the door, and looked. And looked. And looked again. And there, far down the street, was a small dark shape coming closer. The shape was going from porch to porch, from door to door, making that extremely loud noise. By the time it got to the grandhuman's porch, the cat food - 2 kinds - and water were waiting. Since it was Summer, the human simply hoped that the pretty little tortoise shell's humans would find her soon, and then she - the human - went home to her own 919 cats...

Home Again, Home Again

When Cloud and Cyrrie come home from seeing Dr. Kelly for their annual check up, the first thing they do is go from room to room, inspecting everything, making sure this really is their house, and not some clever substitute...

Human Letting Us Down

We, the kittens, are perfectly willing to bring the lint catcher back upstairs everyday - even several times a day! - but she has to do her part, too...

Shouldn't Cloud - and Petunnia - be helping Cyrrie as he tries to break into the Fancy Feast box...? Posted by Picasa

Inconceivable

Our human came home and told us about tigers losing - something - to a bunch of red socks! We are only little tigers, and we've beaten up all colors of socks, and other knitted-wear, too!!

No Gratitude

When the ever-gullible human puts cookies on the outside window sill for Cloud's squirrel, what happens? A broken porch pot, that's what. And the kittens - and cats - presumably witnesses - won't snitch on the squirrel... Once again, what we need are web-cams! (Oh, go ahead, call the SCLU....)
