His Way

OK. It's morning. The human is still in bed, reading. Petunnia is on the bed, in a really bad mood. Buddy tries to come on board, but Petunnia uses extremely bad language (including body language) and Buddy retreats. Then Cyrrie jumps up. Petunnia swings, and, thankfully, misses, and Cyrrie takes it in stride - staying out of smacking range, but curling up none-the-less... Well. Buddy still wants to jump up on the bed, but Cyrrie is now in the way, and Petunnia's tail is still lashing.... So Buddy paces. Buddy looks at the bed landscape. Buddy leaves. Buddy comes back, looks, leaves again..... And, finally, the human gets irritated! (Or something similar.) She reaches down, swoops Buddy up, deposits him on the bed, and pets him...... Hmmm. Buddy does not purr. In fact, Buddy departs within about a minute, and the human (really irritated, now) resumes her reading. Perhaps three minutes later - four at most - Buddy comes bounding up on the bed. He ignores Cyrrie. He utterly ignores Petunnia. He snuggles by his human, purring. His way, get it?
