And for once, not talking about the guys... Instead, sweet and good describes.... the night. It is lovely, mild, cool. The window is open, and the line forms - which is, actually, extremely sweet and good: Cloud got there first, followed by her bro - she was so s&g about sharing the window well! - and then Bansh and the kittens, while Lucy and Buddy watched contentedly from the bed. Toonya hasn't shown up yet, but she'll get her time in, no worries.....

Big Or Small "A"?
In the dark, the sleepy human says, Hi, Angel, to the kitten who is purring on her shoulder. But I'm AreToo, says the indignant sibling! Oh, but you're an angel, too, Aretoo, of course you are...

Again, Again (And Again, I Think)
This morning the human was quickly into and out of the linen closet - in order to preclude getting any kitten - but especially AreToo - trapped inside. A bit later she noticed Angel enthusiastically going at the underside of that same door... Well, it happens. They lose a toy under a closed door, and have a grand time trying to get it back. Hmm.... As the human watched and wondered, all of a sudden, in addition to Angel's 4 limbs, there was suddenly a disembodied 5th - but equally enthusiastic - limb - AreTooooooo...!

Cloud Kisses
Typically, Cloud gets her quality time in the morning, often when she's found sleeping on the couch. The human wakes her up - very gently - and then cleans her eyes (she and Lucy, the other long hair, have the messiest eyes). Then there's the petting, in Cloud's unique preference pattern. And then the tiny purrs, and the finger kisses: lick, lick, nibble, one finger after another...
So Not Funny
When the human left for "work" this morning, she made 3 "humorous" suggestions: pick up your toys; straighten the blankies, and vacuum the catnip up in the living room... Ha! We say, Ha!! Toys? What toys?? Blankies? Worse than ever.... And as for the "v" word, well!!!
Again!
Last night, when the human came home, AreToo once again sneaked (snuck?) into the vestibule and got himself locked in! This time, though, he figured out how to howl about it...

Not Again!
The morning after he got himself locked in the vestibule, AreToo almost spent the day in the linen closet...

Complications In Cat/Kitten Counting
When I first got in tonight, I thought I'd eye-balled everyone... Then there was the checking of water bowls, the topping off of food bowls, etc. Then, slowly, there was a sense of uncertainty... Where was AreToo? I told myself I'd seen him, he was fine, wherever he was right now. Nope. No way. Eventually the search led to the vestibule, aka the cat-lock, where he'd snuck in while I wasn't looking. AreToooooo....! AreToo responds, What?????

Entomology
AreToo finds a ladybug - a real one, dainty and red, not like those scary orange invaders. (Needless to say, we released it into the wild, or, at least, put it out on the porch...)
Sleeping So Soundly
It's really amazing, how deeply asleep they all are, and what that says about how and how much they trust...

Life Style Changes
We're going back to a pre-kitten way of life - with kittens, of course! Since we're not locking anybody up anymore, the food and water bowls and kitty litter are gone from the bedroom. The biggest difference is the much more frequent vacuuming - it's not just the hair: they track litter all over, and they're such messy little eaters! First they drop the crunchies over the side of the bowl, then they play with them!
Probably Too Late
The shrimp plant has - belatedly - been moved to the porch, where it may or may not recover. (But at least the playing in the dirt has been thwarted...)
Helpful
When the human over-waters a hanging plant, it is Lucy who alerts her to the drip, drip, drip...

Distinguishing Kitten Characteristics
Angel: The one who settles into the sink, especially when the human is trying to use it (think stockings, contacts, etc.). AreToo: The one who climbs - curtains, human, etc.
Big Oops
The 17 lb bag of health food was kind of awkward to store, so the last time she went to the vetz, the human settled for the 8 lb one instead, sort of forgetting that 8 lbs was 9 lbs smaller and would run out 9 lbs sooner... It's baby food crunchies for everyone this morning - can you hear the little celebration going on in the background?
Breathing Is Optional
Waking up to... something, something dark and solid and furry, pressed tight against my face. Also, purring.

Counter-intuitive
Why do the boys seem to need less personal space than the girls? This morning I woke up with AreToo, Angel, Cyrrie and Buddy all in bed, all asleep against my left side, all close to each other, too (like cat beads on a string). That would definitely not happen with the sisters...

Persistent
As we know, it's hard getting rid of kittens... This morning, Angel landed in my lap as I drank coffee, read emails, and listened to internet radio. He was, of course, very soft and sweet, but eventually there were other things to do. So I toted him into the bedroom, tucked him in with Cyrrie, and went to the kitchen for more coffee - only to trip over... Angel. Picked him up, gave him another hug, then went on to other am duties, like petting and sweet-talking other cats and kittens. As I sat on the floor, with Cloud and Buddy on the couch, I became aware of someone settling in on my lap. Angel, of course. (Fortunately, Cloud did not notice.)
