What's With Cyrrie?

For most of the 2 1/2 years we've been together, he's been this funny faux tough guy - pick him up and he's all stiff and impatient and embarassed - touch his little throat, though, and he's secretly purring... Lately, however, he follows me around even when there's no possibility of food. He nudges me if I'm not paying attention. And when I do pick him up, he purrs right out loud! Who is this little character, and what did he do with my Cyrrie?

Awwwwww! So sweet and endearing.

One of my Siamese, Ramses, was like that. He would cuddle with his big brother Keiki, but not with me. Towards the end of his life (he lived to be 13), I felt honored that he began to soften towards me and then I'd have two solid kitty bodies in my lap, loving almost every minute of it.

Except when the phone would ring (old time ringer) and scare them off my lap, leaving scratches on my thighs as their back legs took purchase there to leap off!

He's probably channeling Madu, who started out biting whenever any human attempted petting, and has turned into quite the lapfungus, complete with drooling bed-massage episodes. When upended, he weakly waves his elegant slender orange paws about as if to protest, but WE know better.

Hi, PoliticalCat - The origin story of Lucy was posted intermittently from August 1st - 8th, 2005. In short - her then humans sent her to the pound because she bit another human. That human felt obliged to rescue her, and find her a good home, which she did.. :)

Ah! Thanks for the (Luci)further elucidation! I was beginning to envision Lucy in prison stripes rather than her charming black-and-white Holstein print (or are those Holsteins?).
