LOL! Don't worry, I seem to be getting very positive advise here and from friends of mine who also champion the idea of getting a kitten that somehow I'll manage the various expenses that crop up.
P.S. I hope Petunnia's eye problem heals quickly!
It's OK, Lizzy, I've volunteered to coparent the new kitty (vet's bills, at least). They're really not that expensive for the first ten years. It's the next ten that get pricey, but not too pricey. I manage five quite nicely with minimum outlay.
