When the human was away, the grandhuman claimed that cats and "kittens" were only eating out of their old familiar bowls, not out of the cute new ones that the human had bought so there'd be plenty of extra crunchies available. And it's true! If all the old bowls are empty, and the human transfers crunchies from the new to the old, they'll get eaten. Only sensible little Cloud seems willing to eat out of new bowls...
