This blog is the ongoing story of nine-hundred and twenty-two cats, including kittens. We consider on a near daily basis the poetics of cat sensibility - the wit, brilliance, elegance and magic of catdom. We try to ignore hairballs and their sound effects.

Hi, Lizzy!
Had the second surgery this morning. (Right eye). The same friend (Chumley's human) took me to the outpatient clinic and waited for me. Then we went to breakfast at Norm's Coffee Shop (I don't know if it's a national chain). Another friend met us there. Afterwards I went to an art group and process group at the clinic. Took a nap this afternoon.
This surgery was a little more intense, for some reason. A little more pressure and pain and I seemed to be more "conscious" and not so zoned out.
I hope all will be well. The right eye is distinctly less clear than the left. But the doctor said it takes time for things to equal out - a week or more. I have a post-op appointment tomorrow where I can report this "difference." Also, who knows what the immediate effect surgery may have, such as swelling, etc.
I'm sure I'm worrying unnecessarily. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Thanks for the lovely pictures of Lucy. She's such a plush beauty.
Take care!
Oh, Sandy - I was so glad to see your name just now. Now that you're through the surgery, my prayers will be for a fast and full recovery. My experience of cataract surgery is limited to just a couple of friends, but it makes sense that if your ryes are in different stages of healing things might seem a bit strange... When I get home tonight - I'm typing this at the reference desk - I'll give everyone a cuddle especially for you!
Oh Sandy I hope that you are better. I miss Norms. I am originally from the Long Beach area, born in Anaheim and lived most of my life in Downey. My hubby is a Lakewood guy. Norms is a LA original
I am so enjoying all this social networking... :)
