But it was totally understandable under the circumstances...

Human Comes Home

And Angel, having been mostly sweet and good all day long, has a lot to get out of his system. In the first 15 or so minutes, he elicits hissing and other bad language from more than one sibling. When the human makes an issue of this, he's, like, But isn't it such a good thing that I'm cute? (And he is, he is!) Maybe we'll get out the laser beam and see if we can distract him for a bit...

A Day, We Had One

This is Petunnia's post: Our human was gone a very long time today, so we had to take care of ourselves. We nibbled our crunchies. We bird-watched. We slept in sunbeams. We splashed in our water bowls. We played with our toys. We were all - well, mostly all - sweet and good. Please tell her so if she asks...

An Angel Morning

I
The Angel was full of energy this morning, literally bouncing off the walls. That, actually, would have been acceptable, but it was not enough for Angel. The first time he got yelled at was for digging rocks out of the aralia's pot. In exchange for the rocks the human offered him a dozen toys - snakes and many mice, a pig, strange alien creatures that the human thought were "cute"... The toys were only momentarily interesting. The second yelling occurred when Angel picked a fight with someone under the dining room table - it was either Cyrrie or AreToo, but possibly both. A little later, there was Cloud in her special place, with a long brown tabby shape standing on back legs and batting at her with the front ones. Angel! the human shrieked, and only then took in that the batting paws were not brown but white. (AreToo's feelings were hurt, but whether it was because his human yelled at him or because she mistook him for his brother she cannot say.)

Proof

Not Angel himself but proof of his existence (alas) (not alas that he exists! but alas that the proof should be thus...) (you knew that's what I meant).

Do We Need An Audit?

A friend, who came to our aid in matters electrical this afternoon, commented that while on the blog there appear to be at least 922 cats and "kittens" if not more, in "real life" - whatever that is - there appear to be decidedly fewer, like um, Cloud, Cyrrrie and the Droid. Are we cheating?

Disturbing Blogging - Not For The Faint Of Heart!

I
Many years ago, a big plant in a big pot kicked the bucket, as it were - it may even have been a porch plant, since this human no longer recalls any details. But she did take the pot downstairs, and park it, dirt and all, in a corner of the basement. That was years ago... Today she decided to recycle it, dirt and all, for the porch tomatoes. After hauling it up and out and into the sunlight, she saw that - someone, sometime - had decided it could double as a litter box. Yes, once upon a time - just once, it would seem - someone decided to poop in it. It was clearly long long ago, and perhaps the actual pooper has since gone on to a higher realm. The dirt itself was very fine and sandy - not at all unlike kitty litter - or am I trying too hard to excuse the anonymous miscreant?
II
(Truly horrific blogging - you'd better stop here!) In the middle of the night, the human, as is her wont when sleepless, found some comfort reading and then managed to go back to sleep. She awoke to Angel, snout and claws buried in her comfort book, rending and tearing pages! All this human can say is, it certainly is a good thing he's cute! Pictures may follow...

Complaints

I worked on the porch for several hours this afternoon, potting my annuals. The whole time the birds sat in the trees and grumbled. I mean, really - whose porch is it, anyway? When I gave in for the night, they took over again - to the delight of the babes, it should go without saying...
