This blog is the ongoing story of nine-hundred and twenty-two cats, including kittens. We consider on a near daily basis the poetics of cat sensibility - the wit, brilliance, elegance and magic of catdom. We try to ignore hairballs and their sound effects.

Gorgeous boy! I love the bull's eye on his side. He's grown into a svelte and delicious boy.
Sandy, I know you love the 'Droid almost as much as Lizzy, but svelte! I was just thinking he looks like he and his brothers (Angel and Wicket) got issued the Regulation Tabby suits, and 'Droid split his down the front because he's so chubby!
Lizzy, please don't tell him I thought that. Mustn't hurt his gorgeous little feelings. He is beautiful. I want to pop him in my mouth like a caramel chocolate cream swirl.
I don't know if it was Blogger or Mg, but I couldn't post a comment to a blog today to save my life... So here, approximately, is what I would have said to TPC when I read her theory about AreToo's special tabby suit: No fair to make me laugh right out loud in the quiet of the reference room when I'm the librarian for heaven's sake! (To tell the truth, he's so plump I haven't wanted to weight him - I feel like I'd need special equipment! But he's soft, and sweet, and a pretty boy for sure. Signed, his human.) So. Sandy and PoliticalCat - how are you both doing?
Hi, guys!
I think I misused the word "svelte!" Maybe I really meant suave (?) or lush (?) or plushy (?)? Something smooth and satiny, I think.
I, too, think he's deliciously beautiful enough to eat!
Doing fairly well here. Going to be a bridesmaid at my brother's wedding in August. I'm delighted they're willing to include me and my sister. But I must say the contrast between her teeny tiny sisters and the rather larger of the two of us may be a little bit of a contrast? Oh, well, we four siblings have stuck together through thick and thin since our parents' divorce and bonded more than some people our age, I suppose.
But does it seem a trifle funny to see a bridesmaid at age 61? Please reassure me!
Hi, Lizzy and Sandy!
Lizzy, I'm sorry I made you laugh but really glad it happened at the library and not at home where it might have hurt little (??) AreToo's feelings. To look at the positive side of it, there's more of the Droid to love (and I do love to squish my big boy Zingiber). It must be like having a living breathing Teddy Bear, no?
You're not besotted are you? No! Me either.
I'm doing OK except in more pain than ever, which the pills keep control of but I hate to take them because my brain turns to mush.
On the plus end of that equation, the book is closer to done with each passing day. Wish I could write faster, but.
Dear Sandy! You can be a bridesmaid at any age! I'm sure the bride and her sisters, and your brother, will be very appreciative of your presence. Family is very important in Asian culture, and your being the bridesmaids will surely make the new bride feel welcomed and accepted. I shall think of you throughout August, happy thoughts about the wedding and your warm and loving presence there.
Oh, Sandy!
I hope you didn't think I was being rude and dismissive when I said "svelte!"
You were just thinking one word and writing another, I'm sure, as I often do. And the little 'Droid does inspire adjectives.
After looking at his tasty self, I was forced &mdash forced, I tell you! &mdash to eat a slice of lemon cheesecake AND a slice of chocolate pistachio cake with white chocolate frosting.
