Ok, so lazy human is sleeping in a bit. Petunnia plans her intervention, lands on human and success! Human wakes up.
Petunnia, however, does not get up - instead she settles in, purring, kneading, and thoroughly washing human's hand, chin, nose.
Human is now definitely awake, but still horizontal.
Other cats - and kittens - point out that this is not getting the food bowls filled.
Petunnia, always the altruist, says, So what!

• 5:35 am - crash in bathroom - kitten Cyrrie caught on vanity with over-turned perfume bottle.
• 5:40 - Cyrrie tries to climb lace curtain.
• 5:43 - Cyrrie tries to climb lace curtain.
• 5:44 - Cyrrie tries to climb lace curtain.
• 5:45 - Human offers toy, which is, of course, ignored.
• 5:50 - Cyrrie finds dangling electrical cord to bat around.
• 5:51 - Human gets up to check food bowls, which are not empty.
• 5:52 - Human tops up food bowls anyway.
• 5:58 - Cyrrie tries to climb corn plant.
• 6:01 - Crash in bedroom - Cyrrie caught with over-turned perfume bottle (removed from bathroom for safe-keeping).

Only one question: Where was chief mischief maker Cloud??

AM:

Human (finally) comes home, finds flashlight beside the bed - easily picked up!
What happened? Was it elves?? Was it kittens???
Kittens say, Whoops! This could seriously damage our rep....

Question:

Assuming you lived with 922 cats, how many times, on average, per day, should you get to see the "when in doubt, wash" routine?

How these things happen:
First, Buddy happens to Petunnia. Maybe he sneaks up behind her with the kitty equivalent of Boo! Maybe he just happens to be in the hallway where she's going to walk when she gets around it it... Maybe he just exists - and she just happens to remember him.... However it happens to happen, Buddy happens to Petunnia, and then she happens to everybody else.....

The Opposite Of Ugly Pills

Do something really bad, like spilling a whole bowl of new water all over the bathroom floor...

The sub-atomic particles of industrial stength, super-concentrated, utterly irresistable cuteness will then radiate off of your fur and sparkle out of your eyes, and your human will hug you and give you a new toy....
