This blog is the ongoing story of nine-hundred and twenty-two cats, including kittens. We consider on a near daily basis the poetics of cat sensibility - the wit, brilliance, elegance and magic of catdom. We try to ignore hairballs and their sound effects.

Do any of the cats go outdoors? Or is this as close as it gets to birding?
Alas, they do not get to go out - too many cars, etc., in our small, old (circa 1950s), inner-ring suburb... But the birds oblige them by perching right by the windows, and sometimes I put bribles out on the porch for squirrels - Cloud especially is a squirrel fancier!
Thank you for the response!
The picture is adorable -- each of them so focused and poised to leap -- only no place to go.
They are great cats and I enjoy your comments so much.
Ours run about on the hill all day - safe, because they're so far away from a street. Unfortunately, Madu's idea of birding involves crunchment. Fortunately, he's better endowed on the mouse and rat end of things. And most fortunately, neither Zingiber nor Bandicoot would have the first clue of what to do with a bird if it landed on them. Bandicoot watches the bluejays with a friendly fascination as they eat his kibble.
