Treat!

Human came home from a local history conference and - because it's such a beautiful day - opened the bedroom window (we'd had FancyFeast last night). Almost everybody agrees that the open window is (almost) as cool as FF (Cyrrie is still thinking it over). (Cyrrie says, Nope, sorry, it should have been plus FF...)

I hope FF is not on the dangerous pet food list!

Political Cat said she's going to make food for her cats. She doesn't have 922 cats, but close enough. What a job that will be!

Yes. Political Cat has got it right. My wife, daughter and I are now making food from local sources for all of our cats (and, like Lizzie, we have lots of cats and kittens: all former strays, scuzzy, formerly scuzzy and NOTA, living with us in a small college town on the prairie). The contamination scandal out of China is much more grave than the press reveals (it's "gravy" related), and the cat food manufacturers are covering their sorry immoral bums. This is important Lizzie, PC, Sandy et al....make your own food until this issue is resolved.

Thanks, Karandasha! I have friends who have cats (alas, my two are gone to their reward, then I found I was allergic to cats). The tentacles to this story keep reaching out, don't they?

Not too many people have mentioned the fact that wheat and rice gluten are modified food starch, used extensively in food for human consumption such as bread, bagels, biscuits and baked goods, canned soups, stews, ketchups, condiments, and any canned product that comes with gravy or sauce - and the contaminated products have been revealed to be "food grade," i.e., sold for human consumption.

They're also, apparently, contained in various animal food products that have labels stating "no grain products," and have now been revealed to exist in kibble. Be careful what you eat! And careful what you feed your pets and children.
