First Of All, AreToo's Fine

This morning, sitting at the computer with Aretoo sprawlled out on the floor to her right, the human's concentration was utterly exploded by AreToo's screaming because he was being rocked on. (The poor human has always been so paranoid about kittens - and cats - and the rocking chairs.) AreToo ran into the dining room and got up under the tablecloth, so the human got under the table to pet him and talk to him. Eventually she picked him up and carried him to the couch for cuddling. When he finally got down he seemed to be walking ok. He's had nip and treats since, while the human anxiously kept an eye on him until she had to to work. So, Aretoo seems to have recovered from his horrible ordeal, but the human remains a total nervous wreck.

Oh, poor AreToo! And poor, poor Lizzy! Give his tail and legs little kisses for me, and breathe deeply. We forget how underfoot they can be, sometimes. I always apologize most humbly when I hurt mine, and I know just how you feel. Sometimes it takes a whole day to stop shaking and feeling sick. Lots of petting always helps. Calms humans really well.

PoliticalCat, Thank you so much for those kind, empathetic words - I am still shaking inside. And I will definitely give him those extra kisses from you (and get the negative ion value added therapy).

My friend, Chumley's human, said tonight that cats only have brains about as big as walnuts, which is why they can't retain memories of painful situations. Our brains are much larger, so the toxic fallout of a kitten/cat in pain lasts longer for us.

Does this help any, Lizzy?

Kisses for the sweet little droid and pats on the shoulder for you, Lizzy.

Hi, Sandy - It sure looks as if your friend's right - the babe bounced back pretty quickly while I hovered fpr hours, projecting all sorts angst... Thanks again for the sympathy - it made me feel better at work yesterday when I was dying to get back home and look him over again!
