Really Shocking

The plan to get Banshee off the steroid injections and onto an inhaler ran into a huge barrier today - the cost of the medications. If she took the meds as prescribed, it would cost between three and four thousand dollars a year. So instead we're combining the shots with an as needed use of the more affordable of the 2 inhalers. This is the medication that human use for their asthma! It's one thing to "know" how utterly awful the health care situation is in this country, but this experience brought it home to me in a totally different way. Back to Bansh - she has done remarkably well on the injections - her blood work was great in April - so for the moment I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best...
