FancyFeast Blogging
They conned me (I think) - Was it really FancyFeast night? I had to wash the saucers, and everybody made a mess, and when I tried to take pictures the batteries died... Hmm.
Sick Blogging, cont.:
For the last 2 days I at least minimized work to teaching 3 classes and attending 1 meeting, and I plan on working a short day tomorrow as well...
Angel Gets Put In His Place
And not by the human, either: When Angel decided he had dibs on the sick human, 'Toonya, Cloud, Lucy, AreToo and Cyrrie said, No way... (Banshee and Buddy? Neutral? Indifferent? Other?)

Good thing you have five purrlicecats to keep the rambunctions little Angel in line for you.
Here I was for years (?) thinking you were an information scientist/librarian and now it turns out you're an academician after all!
Gong Xi Fa Cai, Lizzy. Feel better soon. Ginger tea helps reduce inflammation and congestion.
Political Cat - I agree - I thought Lizzy was on the research desk or some such! Teaching classes is teh hard work! (Not that research desks aren't too).
Feel better, Lizzy! Good thing you've got 922 cats and kittens to keep you warm.
Hi, Ya'all... I am an instruction librarian, among other things. It's the best part of my job, although I love helping students with their research as well. I will be on the reference desk tonight! Thank you for the good wishes, and back at you! (I just sprinkled some ginger into my tea - will that work? :)
Hey, Lizzy - now that's a fun job to have - librarian and instructor both. Must be like chilli in your chocolate!
No harm sprinkling teh ginger, but for best results, peel (the peel is a tad bitter) a piece of fresh ginger, slice it thinly, then place the slice(s) in your teakettle and bring the water to the boil. You can discard the slices afterwards, especially if you have a delicate constitution. The longer they steep, the stronger the flavour. You can pour the resulting water over regular black looseleaf tea or teabags. Also good with green or herbal tea. However, if you're on blood-thinning medications or have a poor clotting factor, you should keep your intake low.
Shall I post a tasty chicken soup recipe for you?
Here I am, on the reference desk, on a quiet night, and in fact I had just visited The PoliticalCat! As I continued to wander about the blogosphere I found myself crying over a picture of a cremated cat - you know those little packages they give you - I have 3 under my bed. (I know their little spirits are elsewhere, but I believe they know I still love them...) Anyway, you ginger tea instructions diverted me most pleasantly. Do post the soup recipe, and please say how Bandicoot is. (I love your guys names and nicknames equally!)
Hi, Lizzy,
I'm sorry you're working late (though probly not as sorry as your little sweeties). Stay warm.
I know how you feel. Just yesterday I found photos of some of my dear departed ones. Sadly missed. Yes, they know you love them. They're part of the great web of life, still. Perhaps a sunbeam that touches your hair, or the next worm you find in your garden. Or a rescue kitten you might have adopted, with tiny wings.
I'll post the recipe tomorrow, together with the Sad Story of Teh Big Boyz (B.Coot and Z.Berr).
Bandicoot had a relapse about the same time I did, so he's been trying to lick all the cheese and fruit out of my plate and off my fingers. Such a Bad-i-Coot. Madu, ay, ay, ay, got into a fight with some other kitty and now has huge holes all over his poor sweet orange cream body.
It's just like having children, except you don't have to worry they'll wreck the car, or bring home a pregnant teenage girlfriend.
Rest plenty, dear friend, and I hope the soup hits the spot.
