OMG!! I was jusgt sitting hunched over my laptop thinking Lizzy will be asleep but I've GOT to leave her a comment because it looks like we'll all be saying President Obama right soon! You took the words right out of my Gob!!! ARGH! YES!
Yea! We did it! Oh, I am a glorious mess right now...
WOW!!! What a relief! Obama and hope for the future. At last we will have people who are reality-based in the White House and more so in the Congress than before.
I'm posting a couple of days late because besides the poll work, I've had a busy schedule, plus I've been getting my energy back -- It was nonstop in the morning until about 11:00 am, then it tapered off. Believe it or not, only 1 person showed up to vote between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. It was anti-climactic in a way, but still tiring and stressful! But this is a residential area, single-family residences. I live in an apartment and I've heard that in areas with lots of apartments the lines were out the door and down the block.
Thank goodness it rained all night, but tapered off during the day.
The big difference was that huge numbers of people voted by absentee ballot. Although a couple of people came and asked to have their absentee ballot voided so they could actually cast their ballot and have it make a difference right away, as opposed to the delay it takes to count the absentee ballots.
Now we can relax and get back to the business of living our lives - I hope!
