Day Off, Cont.

This human is typically a shower-taker, but this morning she decided to indulge in a bath. After making elaborate preparations - hunting down the bubble-producing products, getting a fresh cup of coffee, a candle, book, etc., she eased into the hot water and prepared to relax. Ha! Her mistake was not closing the bathroom door tightly enough, and before she knew it she had company - kittens, and water-loving kittens at that! AreToo and Angel looked both dumbfounded and mesmerized. Cautious Angel stood back and watched while AreToo began to investigate. He stood on his tippy toes to survey the bathtub - his water park, right? It was completely flooded, and there were all these bubbless! His big eyes got so big he looked like a fake kitten. Then he splashed the water and ate a pawful of foam before the human could stop him. And there was absolutely nothing on the edge of the tub he did not try to push into the water: bath gel, loofah, coffee, book... And when he finally left, Angel took over. He stayed and stayed and required the human's constant attention. Eventually, though, he was gone, and then the human added a bit more hot water, thinking something like, At last! And then she spotted him, down on the bathmat, taking his own bath...

Mephistopheles, who couldn't bear to be parted from me for a second, once bullied his way into the bathroom as I was preparing for a bath. He sat on the edge of the tub and began horripilating - you know, that shiver that seems to run up their backs from tail to nose. Upon investigation, I found that his elegant black tail was submerged in the near-boiling bath mix. Poor lad!

My Thea once fell in while watching me take a bath - the amazing thing was, he hardly got wet at all! (Anthea was a boy - only I realized it about 2 months after naming him!)

Sweet Lordosis! I haven't seen the word "horripilating" in ages. My compliments.
