Good Can Come Out Of Evil
A little while ago, Angel and Cloud were polite to each other as they both "helped" the human repot the african violet...
This blog is the ongoing story of nine-hundred and twenty-two cats, including kittens. We consider on a near daily basis the poetics of cat sensibility - the wit, brilliance, elegance and magic of catdom. We try to ignore hairballs and their sound effects.

Oh, sure. That's for now. The minute you turn your back on them, though ... (tpc, freshly bitten and scratched, by Gojira, Bandicoot, Zingiber, Madu, AND Gustav. Insult of insults!)
Your cats have the greatest names...!
Zingiber's name, when he came to Casa Los Gatos, was Ginger - awfully common, I thought, for such an Artful Orange Podger. He is now, officially, Zingiber Officinale.
His brother, Bandicoot, was named in honor of my best friend's mother, who, when she grew exasperated with her children, would opine aloud, "You're nothing but a bunch of bandicoots!"
Bandicoots are large, pestiferous rodents native to Asia. Although I'm not sure "bunch" is the appropriate collective noun.
Madu means "honey," in Bahasa Indonesia, and he's a honey-coloured honey, by temperament. Sweet little schnoozer.
Gojira was named for a Japanese monster, from her habit of making wells in the featherbed, where she would hide, and, when her brother (Madu) walked by, rear up on her hind legs with a meep of threatening quality, and bite the poor fellow square on the bum.
As for Gustav - well, that's an odd name for a Japanese bobtail, and all I can say is, I didn't have a hand in it!
