Pre-Thanksgiving Blogging

Slight Variation
on the Daily Routine:
The daily routine has changed somewhat: now, in addition to eye-balling them all before leaving the house, checking the food bowls, replacing the water in the water bowls and topping off the fountain, now the human also checks the level of food in the bird feeder, and replenishes as necessary. Today when she went to refill the bird food, she surprised a squirrel! Who promptly ran away. Then, as she struggled with the bag of bird food and the funky little bird feeder, she realized she had company. The squirrel had returned. He was perched on the wall of the house, right under the dining room window - definitely within petting range - watching... When the bird feeder was at last full, there was still a bit of food in the bag - not nearly enough to take back in the house. So the human spread it along the window ledge, talking to the squirrel, like Hi, cutie, here, this is for you, etc. Then she went back inside. A few minutes later, leaving for work, the squirrel was on the window ledge, pigging out. He never budged as the human passed him, got into the car and started the engine. Even funnier was that right inside the window - what, an eighth of an inch away? - were Cyrrie and Angel, ear to ear, equally big-eyed, watching the squirrel - who was either completely unaware of their existence, or knew perfectly well and could have cared less...
First Fruits:
Cloud and Cyrrie share many many fingers of (light) sour cream as the human makes the salad dressing for tomorrow.

Hi, Lizzy!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your 922 catz and kittenz!

Hope the weather is lovely and you have a great time with your companions of the day.

Just an update: I drove out as the sun was setting to the Torrance area to have dinner with my brother and his lovely girlfriend, sister and husband from Hawaii, and brother and sister-in-law with niece and nephew from northern California. My new vision is so much better at night! No more huge halows/coronoas around every light. I can see individual headlights and the small yellow lights on trucks. Later, in full dawrkness, the headlights were manageable - only slightly shiny. What a relief. I had given up night driving recently.

We'll be having a feast today at my brother's house. They're bringing Mom out to spend the night and have been preparing handrails in the bathroom, etc. to be sure she's comfortable.

There is much to be thankful for this day and I am grateful for many blessings.

Hi, Sandy - That is just wonderful news about your vision! I am too tired to blog properly tonight, but I can say that cats and "kittens" seemed to enjoy their Thanksgiving (FancyFeast AND turkey), in spite of the vacumming, etc., that preceded the actual food... :)

Hello, humans! It sounds as if both of you and 922 cats and kittens had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Sneaking a few moments on someone else's computer to rub a few beautiful bellies, and lots of love to all of you. I'll be home soon and rubbing furlumps (yours and mine).
