Cloud Blogging (Under Pain Of Cloud)
Yesterday
Usually when Angel works her last nerve, Cloud is literally and truly inconsolable - try to love her up and she chirps! However, just lately, she seems to be mellowing just a bit. When Angel irritated her yesterday, and then I picked her up - chirping was noticeably absent. Instead she lay like a baby in my arms, and purred. And purred. And purred... And kept her eyes open and her ears flicking, antenna-wise, the whole time.
Today
I spent this morning getting ready to see my tax lady. As I shuffled and shuffled through a year's worth of paper, eventually I got to the place where I knew a bunch of it was truly irrelevant, and so, seeking more space on the dining room table, I pulled out a chair for additional temporary storage space. Sometimes when you pull out a dining room chair, you just know - it's like that heavy. This time there was no clue - light as a feather. And if the table cloth puffed outward, well, so? I gently tapped it in, and encountered something solid, which immediately disappeared. And then there was Cloud, coming out from under the table. Oops! Thanks goodness it was a gentle tap, and thank goodness the confused-more-than-irritated Cloud did not connect the tap in any way with her cooing, secretly apologetic human...

Lizzy,
I can't believe how prolific your postings have been, both written and photos, in the midst of your illness. I hope you are beginning to feel much better. I'm sure getting your taxes done will also help!
Just so you'll know, my comments have been a little sparse lately because I've been helping with my Mom. We had a two-hour family conference call last Saturday and decided, since she is almost certain to be staying in the health unit and unable to return to her old room, that we'll pack up her possessions and give up her old room.
My part for this week is to box up as much as I can before my brother flies down this weekend to help move things in a U-Haul.
My other brother is busy getting ready to go to Taiwan to meet his future wife's family next week. We've all been busy with our own situations as well as trying to deal with Mom's changing needs.
But in between, I come here for a breath of fresh kitty-laden air and you always have something new, even in the midst of illness!
Take care of yourself!
Oh, Sandy - My heart goes out to you! I'm so lucky that my mom is relatively lucky/strong/healthy - today, after I took her to the bank and then went to work, she went grocery shopping quite successfully all by herself! I'm doing way better myself, thank you! - and I'm so glad if our little corner of reality gives you a little bit of pleasure... :) Bless you, your mother and all your family and friends...
Dear Sandy,
I wish I knew how to keep up on your situation! The only time I hear anything is when I come to visit the 922 cats and kittens!
Take care of yourself too, dear!
Oh, Lizzy,
If you only knew what a wonderful little oasis you have here!
Even Bandicoot (he's the smartest, so he usually chips in &mdash Zingiber just snores, and Gojira is very smart but not into virtual communication!) thinks our daily visits here are a blessed little hiatus from daily stress.
You really ought to put a book into production, complete with your gorgeous photos of Teh Fambly!
Happy thoughts to your Mom.
