Ok, It's Going To Be Lucy

La Luz, as she is known to some of our special friends:
I
It must have been Thursday morning. I got out of the shower and - horror of horrors - broke with the long established routine. Instead of getting a cup of coffee and going back to bed to read and rendezvous with Lucy, I took my caffeine fix into the living room and plopped the laptop on - of all places - my lap. And right away, there was Lucy, trying to come on board. Well, I didn't want her on the laptop, really. So I kept fending her off - give her a pet, push her in a different direction, have her come right back... No, sweetheart, I would say, as she came at me via the footstool or the table - Lucy, sit on the rocker and keep me company. Determined doesn't begin to say it. Stubborn is such an understatement. Finally, though, I got it. This was Lucy's quality time! How could I have forgotten? Down went the laptop, up came Lucy for her cuddle with a human at least temporarily untouched by other cats and "kittens".

Hi, Lizzy and PC!

The wedding took place yesterday amid much hoopla and celebrating. It was an incredible experience. The reception was held in a ballroom of the San Gabriel Hilton, which served about 10 courses of a Chinese feast to about 250+ people.

My brother and his WIFE (first time I've written that) are both somewhat reserved people, but they have big hearts and a huge circle of friends from college days through more current church-related groups (both of them). There were people who've known my brother from college days 40 years ago.

After the ceremony there was a Power Point slide presentation of pictures of both of them that went back to babyhood through their courting days. Also a poem about how they met in a church parking lot! I cried buckets -- so touched by the beautiful love and sentiments expressed. Music and presentation was beautifully done.

They're off today on a honeymoon in Canada and my family members are now scattered back to various states (Oregon, Hawaii, northern California).

It's hard to believe it's over! Everything came together with minimal hitches and now we get to wait for pictures.

It's a relief in some ways, but now what kind of goal do I focus on? This has been a very stressful, but ultimately productive year and I hope after a little bit of a rest I can do something else equally productive.

Hope to catch up with your posts. Just wanted to let you know I'm still checking in and now finally have a minute to pull my thoughts together and post a comment on it all.

Dear Lizzy, how nice to see your comment today! And, aren't those Buddy pitchers just too perfect? The Wahwah Petal is lying next to me with her rosepetal-pink tongue on her long, delicate silvered paws, all wondering why I'm not smooching her instead of looking at Buddy and Cloud pitchers.

Ach du liebe! And the Coot sends his love to his Plumply Pulchritudinous BFF La Luz. So glad you're OK and back among us.

Hi, Lizzy,

WahWah Petal is Gojira's nickname — because she's a complainy little thing, always going wah, wah, wah ... and her little pink tongue is as tiny and delicate as a rose petal. She must have forgiven me for touching her Sanctified Fur yesterday. She actually gave me a thoughtful lick or two this morning, as if to say, "You has a flavr."
