Grumble Blogging

Today, inspired by incredibly beautiful pictures of ThePoliticalCat's Gustav, Gojira and Zingiber, I decided to take some pictures of my own... First the batteries for the camera had to be recharged, and second that took forever! Third, I found out that I had to upgrade to Picassa 3.6! By the time all that happened, the good light was gone - but here are still a few new pics and a few that were stored in the camera - if it works!

Thanks, Lizzie! Sad news for today, I'm afraid. Our little Domino, the feral kitty who lived outside and often breakfasted and lunched at our neighbours' -- he got very very sick, and although we rushed him to Emergency Care, he just couldn't fight all the things that were attacking him at once. Heartbroken. It does me so much good to see your little ones in this hour of need. Thank you so much for their sweet little faces.

Oh, God love him, the poor little one... I'm so sorry, but also glad that he had you and your neighbors while he was here. I think a lot about my guys and what a mercy it was that they didn't end up feral. Petunnia would have been born outside in November. Lucy had already gone to the pound. Buddy - a feral adult. Cloud and Cyrrie - what if Jennifer hadn't scooped them up out of that parking lot? Angel and AreToo - Jennifer to the rescue again! And then the poor little Nubie - she's never have survived being pregnant and starving. It makes you humble. It breaks your heart to know how many others are just out there, without even someone to give them breakfast and lunch. Poor little Domino, my heart aches.

We buried our dear little boy in the garden between our two houses. Under an oak in a patch of sunlight. We're having a ceremony tonight with flowers and prayers, such as we can voice. Not religious, but lady neighbour is very spiritual so it'll be something sweet, I'm sure. Poor little boy. At least he's no longer in pain. No suffering ever again, no cold rainy nights outside, no hunger.

I will miss him so much, forever.
