LOL Moment

Background info: Last week, on a day when the temp got above freezing, I tossed a few oldish/dryish clementines out into the back yard, thinking that just maybe something - excuse me, someone - might come along and eat them. But it didn't happen, and for a couple of days there were the bright orange clementines fluorescing against the grey... Then it snowed, and they were gone. Then the snow started to melt. This morning I went out with the bird seed and came back in to watch the birdies come - but they didn't! Looking around to try and figure out why, I noticed - at the very peak of my garage roof - a bright orange ball. Huh? And then it got better: one of our phat squirrels was running about the garage roof, looking for enemies or similar that finally just weren't there - finally he ascended to the point and began to feast with great enjoyment on frozen clementine. Go figure. (And did any cats or "kittens" enjoy this lol w/ me? Alas, no - the lazy, spoiled sillies....)

Happy Valentine's Day!

FancyFeast for all! And good news for the poor, technically challenged, human: After finally getting new rechargeable batteries for the camera, and then not using it for several weeks, the human was shocked to find it dead. She recharged the batteries, put them back in the camera, and... nothing. Oh, noes! I thought, I bought the wrong batteries! I killed the camera! However, when I decided to try re-recharging, I noticed that one battery wasn't exactly aligned in the charger. Could that be the reason? Setting it straight, I let them recharge, but didn't try them out in the camera until just now. Expecting the worst, instead my camera came back to life, and I took pictures and everything. This, along with cats and "kittens" of course, has cheered me up considerably. (Now all I need is help with (re) installing printer drivers and resetting a router...)

Natural Lighting

Or natural lack-of-lighting: does it make Nubia look Romantic (capital R), gothicly spooky, or does it just say Mom can't take a decent pic if she tries...

Lizzy Accounts For Herself

It wasn't exactly that I stopped blogging - I was blogging, every day, in my head... And I will try to dredge some of those posts up from memory. But in so many ways I was feeling like a bird caught in an oil spill - stuck in a sticky dark poison. Thankfully, there were moments - probably many of them - of the sweet and good - many (but certainly not all) connected with the crew, they guys, the bunnies, the - somebody help me, I need some euphemisms here. The cats and "kittens"! There, I've said it outright. And do you know, I used to think complacently about their guardian angels...

Eyes Having It Blogging

Some people are lucky enough to live in Norway and have the Aurora Borealis to amaze and bedazzle them and suggest the transcendent and the numinous: I* have Angel - his jewel-eyes taking on the same blue-green ever-changing glows, enchanting and mesmerizing his human, albeit and perhaps even better on a smaller and huggable scale...

*Is Lizzy back? Perhaps?? Tonight she was so tired (after another 10 hr day) that she got off the freeway at the wrong exit and drove around Detroit for a while until she got her bearings and finally got back home. But watching the Angel - laired on the piano bench, twisting and glittering for no apparent reason - gave her back a jolt of energy mostly missing so far this calendar year. Luvs to all, more to follow...
