A Cure For Gacking?

Someone, somewhere, was gacking - hopefully not Banshee, who finally got her asthma shot yesterday... And in fact it was Cyrrie, perhaps getting ready to barf up a hairball. Before I could even speak consolingly to him, Cloud ran over - just as I was thinking she was concerned about her bother, she bopped him. Sigh. But he did stop gacking, or at least postpone the placement of the hairball....

Happy New Year!

Cloud's Butter Habit

On Christmas Eve I left the butter out on the counter - nothing happened until Dec. 26, when I got up to realize that about a quarter of the stick had been licked away... So I moved it into the cupboard until the next time I used it - and, yes, forgot to put it away again.... At least another quarter of a stick gone! Wouldn't you think there'd be some repercussions? But no, she remains (thank goodness) as healthy as a very healthy thing, indeed, and hopefully the human has finally learned her lesson.....

Promised (Mini) Story

Micro story? Anyway, when the grandhuman found a mouse that had belonged to her beloved Spitty-Face (probably never even played with) she sent it along to the 922's... And the human tossed it onto the dining room table, where AreToo sniffed it and then lost interest. And then Cyrrie took a hand (paw) and was really enjoying it - tossing it, pouncing, catching, tossing again... until it bounced into the corner of the table where Cloud sat watching. And Cloud took possession! Cyrrie wasn't having it, though, and he stood up for himself - amazingly, he bopped her. And even more amazingly, it was quite a gentle bop! When she bops him, she puts her all into it - all her paw, arm, body and heart. Cyrrie's bop is not even half-hearted, not even quarter-hearted, really. He is such an amazingly sweet little guy! (It was enough to discombobulate Miss C - with a flounce of her magnificencent tail, she departed the table to brood and plot revenge...)

Weather Blogging

After reading TPC's and Sandy's account of CA weather, I just have to "brag" a bit. A week or so ago we got a lot of snow, and I couldn't put my car away because the guy who does my snow had his blower die, and the back was feet deep. When he couldn't do it the next day, it froze solid. So Monday morning I got in my car - parked in the driveway - and saw that it was 4' - 4! The car started, but just barely. Then, on Christmas eve, it rained! I had to wade to the atm in water up over my ankles - wearing fashion boots and a very long skirt, wouldn't you know! Yesterday, driving to the protest, it was in the 60's. And the huge amounts of snow that had covered just everything were disappearring. Last night I woke up to the strongest - well, at least the loudest - winds I'd ever heard, and way way in the distance there was lightning - huge white blobs of it, but the thunder never got here. I lit a candle and unplugged the computers and sat reading while big-eyed cats and kittens looked at the walls and ceiling. This morning the winds have died down somewhat, and the lawns are green again, with just a few patches of white where only days ago was ye olde winter wonder land. And it's gotten cold again - ccording to Yahoo, 33' - I haven't poked my nose out yet. All in one week. (And now I'm going to have a second cup of coffee...)

Break Blogging

9 days in a row! Woohoo!! Lots of cuddles and xmas eve our Grandhuman is coming to visit... (Will the human tell the story of Angel, Cyrrie and AreToo getting a new xmas mouse? Probably. She's notoriously indiscrete...)

Perfume Blogging

What? Well, maybe it's shopping blogging, or xmas blogging, or something. Every Christmas we try to give our grandhuman some 'fume - something new (to this human, anyway) and something whimsical (as opposed to heavy-handed famous) and attractively packaged, and, of course, smells good to this human. In past years it's been a good excuse to sample 'fumes until I couldn't smell any more - today I wasn't really in the mood. So imagine my delight when I saw something called Angel - in a very attractive blue bottle! Done I thought! Oh, how clever! A coup, in fact... And then I sniffed it. Yuck! Stinky! Hugely disappointed, I found something else. When I got home, Angel sniffed that particular finger, and, judging by his crumpled little nose, he agreed with his human - stinky! Oh, really, snorgle that tummy and add in some c-nip - fragrance indeed!

Happy Holidays, Everyone

We never meant to be offline for a whole week. In fact, we never meant to be offline at all. But the human succumbed to end-of-semester exhaustion. Now, however, thanks to a sick day and a snow day right in a row, she's perked up a bit. In fact, she's going to file 2 complaints:
  1. Angel (of course we start with him) - last night he reverted to kittenhood and pounced on the human's poorly protected toes. One of his claws caught in one of her toes, and she had to disentangle them in the dark. It wasn't until morning came that she realized she'd bled all over her nice flannel sheets...
  2. Banshee - After nibbling on the dianthus that was salvaged from the porch when the weather turned, she puked all over the kitchen, dining room and living room. I googled it, and it is in fact somewhat poisonous, but I was mostly reassured by what I read, and she seems fine, now...
Thank you, my dears - I would so hate to be bored by you...

By Comparison, A Tiny Little Oh, Dear

Our rechargeable camera batteries seem to be all but gone - I've been suspecting it for some time... Which means that cute pics of Angel, Buddy, Cyrrie and AreToo enjoying their new Jen-given "kitten" bed are stuck in the camera for the moment. Last night I was ready to give it (the bed) back. Late last night, Angel and Buddie amazed me by swapping it back and forth all night long. This morning Cyrrie was snoozing away in it as I left for work. And tonight AreToo managed to squish himself inside - he's there even as I type... (And the bedz I bought for them? Totally untouched!)

Oh, Dear! Blogging

Bandicoot - Dear one! Please be well. You are needed, sweetling, and your friends and fans at 922 are wishing you all the best...
