Update

Human is doing ok - mostly - went to work today - a long day - but got through it. Grandhuman asked how the babes are coping, and it's hard to tell - they're uneasy - they know something is wrong - but hopefully no one will react the way the "real" Lizzy did when we lost out beloved Tigger (Lizzy ate herself into diabetes!). Cyrrie is so far the most anxious, pummelling his human girl (as opposed to kneading) plus extreme gobbling of her various digits... But they're all very cuddly, both needing cuddles and knowing that the human needs cuddling, too.... Love to all our reading/commenting humans and their sweet sweet cats and "kittens"!

Such sweeties! They sure do know how to make a hoomin feel loved and needed, don't they? Glad you're mostly OK — it'll be more and more so as the days go by. We never stop missing them and never forget them, but we also know the sorrow is mostly for us. Where they are, there is no pain and suffering, and we would give our whole universe to spare them a minute of pain and suffering.

That is so true that we never stop missing them - missing Bansh triggers missing all the rest - which I try to keep under control. But I do believe they are at peace, and together. I know there are sociological patterns of community, but I believe there are spiritual patterns as well... Anyway, I am going to kiss my sweetzies, and if you do the same there will be a little bit of extra luv zapping around the multiverse all to the good...

I've been kissing and squooshing them ever since I heard. Each time someone has to say goodbye to one little friend, all of us remember how much we love our own. Suddenly they seem so precious. Despite repeated knee jumps and bedmouse-chasing episodes.

I just wanted to say — being devoted to science in all its glorious ramifications, I sometimes find I hold beliefs that comfort me but have no scientific basis that I know of. For example, I believe in reincarnation, and that every animal with which I've come in contact has been involved in one or more of my previous (or future) lives. I like what you say about spiritual patterns — I think that's what Kurt Vonnegut meant when he talked about the "karrass" in Wampeters, Foma, and Granfalloons (or was it some other book?).

In any event, physics teaches us that matter never ceases to be, it simply assumes different forms. So a new constellation of matter has been born out of the old and it will keep mutating and some of those atoms will be incorporated into you someday! And so Banshee, dearly beloved, will truly be a part of you and all the others in that very loving and loved household of 922 gatos.

And this thought comforts me greatly. With much love and many comforting hugs and kisses from one Casa de Los Gatos to another.
