The Way Patient Sweeties
Tonight was - finally - FancyFeast night! Yay! said cats and "kittens"... Human was all like, well, you knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Yeah, yeah, say c's and "k" ' s - um, oh, er, yeah. Yeah, says the human, clearly expecting a little more in the line of gratitude. Or not so sarcastic gratitude. Or something. Right. Go expect. Right.

My Support Staff
Early this morning I got down on the kitchen floor (hunting for coffee in the lower cupboards) and just didn't feel like getting back up... AreToo sat with me and watched and I could just hear his little encouragments: It's ok, humangirl, you can do it, you'll be able to get back up - and, eventually, I did. :)

Supervised
This morning, slowly getting ready, the human had help - AreToo stood on the footstool in the bathroom and watched - and commented - as his human - slowly - did the usual - scrub teeth, put on makeup, comb hair, ya da ya da... And the whole time, there was the droidling, who yawned/sang every-so-once-in-a-while, while the human recommended a nap. But AreToo was diligent, and in the end the human actually made it out of the front door. (Hopefully then the droid got his nap.)

Hyprocrite!
I came home tonight and topped up the crunchies bowls, and there was Cyrano - again - making the covering-up gesture, thank you very much! However, when Petunnia came over and decided to eat out of that very bowl, suddenly Cyrrie was hungry as well...
Angel Trying To Love His Human to Death
He woke me up at least 5 times last night, pouncing on me and repouncing, seeking the perfect position in which to vigorously and enthusiastically knead the beloved fleece, and of course, the barely protected human underneath. My hands are covered with scabs, and this morning I noticed a large red sore on my face which was not a zit... And he is a big boy, too, even if not nearly as big as AreToo. (Maybe I should count my blessings.)
Morning Blogging
When I got up this morning, AreToo was sitting - posed - in the kitchen - expectantly, mournfully, poignantly - by an empty dish: not a crunchies bowl, but an empty FancyFeast saucer. Ahem, said the cynical human, I believe we had FF yesterday for Easter? Yes, said AreToo, but it was also our birthday, so we should have FF again today - for breakfast! Nice try, baby - Have some yummy, healthy crunchies! (Curses, said cats and "kittens" everywhere.)

Birthday Blogging!
At 5 to midnight it dawns on me- today is the baby boyz' official birthday, and they are 2 years old! Quick birthday kisses to AreToo and Angel!!
Easter Blogging
Thank you, everyone, for the sweet comments and encouragement. Sandy, I was sorry to learn that your mother had been ill, but glad she's doing better now! I did have 2 bad days - very sore throat - slept a lot, but do feel better today. It was wonderful to take a shower, get dressed, and go outside - a dazzlingly beautiful Easter Sunday, once you wrapped your brain around all the snow! I actually went down the street a block and a half and had dinner with my mother and cousin, and when I came home again the guys had their holiday FancyFeast, which pleased them no end. Angel just came into the computer room - I think he's saying Hi to his remote humans!

Still Not Great
But perhaps better... Hanging with the babes, sleeping as much as possible, will post good stuff asap....
Catching Up, More Or Less
Well, tonight ended in the human, feverish and head-achey, stopping off at the 24 hr pharmacy drive-in (almost typed drive-by - Freudian typo or what, I ask you) to pick up the next round of antibiotics... Maybe they're kicking in - I seem to feel a bit better, and hope sleep happens soon.
Cat- and "kitten"-wise: Before I left for work, I decided they needed a treat, and so I opened the attic door. Cloud got there first, got all of 4 steps up when she was overtaken by 3, count them, 3, baby brothers. She was so disgusted that she came back downstairs in order to pout about it properly. The human had to go, so she only hopes that Cloud relented, and had some quality time upstairs, since the weather report for tomorrow is bad, and the attic door is closed again for the duration... Hasta manana! (Sorry about the lack of tilda.)

Farce Blogging
Yes, I was back at the er for the second time in 2 weeks. Bother! I saw the ent specialist this afternoon, and was disgusted to learn that the prescription they gave me last was for too short a time - 10 days - according to current practice - it should have been for 21 days. And so no wonder I'm still sick. They gave me a whole new prescription - also to take for 21 days - after which I'm supposed to get another cat scan. Here's the wrinkle: About half an hour after taking the first (pricey!) pill, my lip started to swell. ("If swelling of mouth or lip occurs, seek medical attention immediately.") So I wound up in the er, got some intravenous steroids, am on steroids for the next few days, and am back to square 1 vis a vis the sinus infection. Bummer! But I'm eye-balling Angel as he massacres the big fluffy toy (the one that looks like Cloud, actually) and that, at least, is a kind of therapy. Next: Call the doctor tomorrow morning, work tomorrow the late shift, and after that would dearly love to make the Good Friday afternoon service and the Saturday protest.
Peace Blogging
After spending time at the er - again - I decided that even if I couldn't actually protest, I could drive by the vigil and honk in support. Once I got there, however, I had to stop at least for a minute. It made me cry. There were a lot of people, so beautiful, thanks, Pam, you are wonderful! Thanks Wyandotte Protesters, you are awesome - so faithful - my heart is warmer tonight for having seen you there...

Home Blogging
Wouldn't you know it? A - relatively - minor crisis kept me at work an additional 45 or so min... But it is so good to get home to all 922 cats and "kittens" - and tomorrow I'm not working at all, so, Let's party, babies! (By which I mean, Let's cuddle and sleep way in....)
One Hour And Six Minutes To Go
Breakfast Blogging
I ate breakfast in bed to day - with Buddy! He and I had leftover Chinese with not a foodie in sight! Something I don't think has ever happened before...
Work Blogging
Made it in, even after a not-so-great night - at least my sleeplessness was redeemed by the moon - I got to watch it move all the way across the bedroom window, however long that took. And once I'm here, of course, I get an adrenalin lift from the students. Where I'd really like to have been today? Out protesting! (Don't tell the little ones that I didn't say, Back home, in bed, with them...) (Although that sounds nice, too.)

Huge Relief
For a while it looked like I'd be going in to the College for a few hours this evening - in an administrative capacity. Got let off, and I think the extra 12 or so hours of rest will make a difference when have to I go in tomorrow morning. Since then, I got to witness 2 sweet scenes:
I
Angel and AreToo, sharing a single sunbeam in the middle of the living room floor, wrastling in slow motion - as if neither one wants to actually win or lose, but only to stay together in the sunbeam.
II
Later on, on the bed - Angel and Cyrrie, with Cyrrie washing Angel's face, and washing and washing and washing. (Better Angel than me, says the sadly thin-skinned human...)
Hi, Everyone
Thank you all so much for the good wishes - they certainly did my heart good! Here's where we are here - I went back to work, kind of collapsed after the third day, stayed home yesterday and slept a lot, and I have an appointment with a specialist lined up for next week. In the mean time the guys continue to cheer me up. Yesterday I had to decide, what's the worst part of being helplessly horizontal? Petunnia and AreToo lying on my chest (Petunnia wants to knead my neck and chin, while AreToo now outweighs her) or slender "little" Angel prancing on my still iffy tummy?

Water Wars
Cloud was in the bathtub, quality-testing the "new water, good water" that the human had just replaced in the yellow plastic tipping bowl. The shower curtain was about 1/2 closed, with a smaller gap on one side - perfect for Angel to slip up onto the edge of the tub, and then down behind a convenient bulge in the inner curtain. Cloud continued to drink, completely unsuspecting, but the busybody human lifted the curtain and exposed the sneaky Angel, who was almost nose to nose with his little nemesis. Cloud looked horrified. Angel looked... betrayed.
