Part I
The human comes home, parks in the driveway, and as she comes up on the porch, there's Cyrrie in the dining room window, looking out at her and bouncing up and down with excitement. The human thinks, Ohhhhh- I guess it's time for FancyFeast!
Part II
Once inside, Cyrrie and AreToo go crazy, and the poor human can hardly get her coat off for tripping over them. Psychic, psychic, psychic...
Part III
When Purina came out with FancyFeast Elegant Medleys for, what, 85 cents a can retail? the human said No, no way, never... However, when she got a sample can in a bag of crunchies, she couldn't let it go to waste, could she? The good news is they weren't that enamoured of it! Flaked Fish and Shrimp is still their drug of choice!!
Important Update
The human reports that before she left for work today, Lucy was successfully treated for the serious condition of having been treatless earlier...
Talk About Service
When the human opens up a new package of treats, the "kittens" and Buddy all come running - the big girls just can't be bothered. So of course the human takes the treats to them, Banshee on the table, Petunnia on the couch, and Lucy on the - Where's Lucy? (Not to worry, she'll get hers later...)

After All These Years
I'd still like to understand them better: Yesterday, a very long day away, ended very ordinarily - hugs and kisses, crunchies and toothtreats, sweet-talk, etc. Then this morning we have an outbreak of neediness! Petunnia is all over me. And tonight it's Banshee - extremely demonstrative - then Lucy... It's sort of gratifying, but I hate to think they were feeling traumatized yesterday! (The "kittens" - all 4 of them - are all so self-assured/demanding anyway, that I don't think they notice too much.) (Only Buddy seems really centered, but he'll probably be next...)

Conversation With Troublemakers
Human to kittens, How cute are you? Angel's reply, Cute enough...? AreToo says, As cute as Angel, even though I don't need to be! Human adds, Right at this moment...

Advice
When Angel - in his own inimitable/innocent way - disses Lucy, the human says, Just sit on him, Luz, once and for all; sit on him, and he will be... flat.

Fruit Again?
Dismayed kittens watched as their human put together a fruit platter for a party at work: strawberries, blueberries, melons, pineapple and grapes were all sniffed and rejected. They did, however, partake of the vanilla yoghurt - Cloud got the spoon, and Cyrrie the bowl. (Where was Aretoo?)

Disappointment
Human says, We ordered some stuff online a while ago - mainly replacements for our scratching post innard, but - since you definitely want to get the most out of your S&H fee - some toys as well... So, the scratcher panels came, but not the toys! Cats and Kittens say, She's much more upset about it than we are...
Ouch Twice In One Day
AM
Everybody was snoozing except AreToo and the human. As the human walked past the dining room table, she was attacked - with excessive force - by a crazed kitten who should have been jumping on Angel, or at least Cyrrie...
PM
Human reading on the couch, Angel sitting beside her enthusiastically kneading her clothes. At some point one paw goes astray and makes contact with skin rather than cloth. Once again there is pain and blood involved. Involuntarily the human jumps, and Angel jumps, too. Oh, Sweetheart, the human says, I'm sorry...

Forensic Science
Earlier this morning, in the shower, I noticed a couple of tiny almost eye-level points of light. At first I told myself they had to be flecks of shampoo, or similar, but no, upon closer inspection, they were in fact tiny little cuts in the plastic, and there were, in fact, 4 of them, 3 closer together than the 4th, with the torn plastic folding inward. Hmm. Picture this: AreToo (maybe Angel, but most probably AreToo) perched on the edge of the bathtub between the 2 curtains, jumping up, claws extended... I could take impressions, take paw prints, etc., but, really, why bother?

Rosebud!
Ever since I went to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paczki) to get ThePoliticalCat a definition for paczki, I have been obsessing on rosebud marmelade (ours was just custard, alas...).

A Little Night Therapy Blogging
I.
Amaryllis Update
Thanks to my colleague (http://meerakai.blogspot.com/) I came home newly paranoid about potentially poisonous house plants, and so the poor amaryllis (what's left of the poor amaryllis) is moved out of cat and kitten range, and (mostly) also out of human sight, to bloom a bit if it still can... II.

?
I know for an absolute fact there was going to be another part to this post, but, well, I guess I'll go pet the guys...

He Can't Tell The Difference
So, it's Sunday morning and there's a commotion in the dining room. The human hurries to sort it out, and runs right into Angel in the living room, who was clearly involved in whatever was going on in the dining room. She picks him up for a heart to heart about not teasing Cloud, etc., only to realize that Angel does not differentiate at all between a time-out and a regular hug...

Definitely Psychic
This morning it was AreToo who followed me everywhere and could not get cuddled enough, and I know it's because I blogged about his brother yesterday...

Why I'm Sometimes Late To Work
It's all of them really - they seem to take turns - but just lately it's been Angel. I'm in the bathroom, intent on putting on mascara or whatever, when somebody joggles my arm (thankfully the left arm, me being right handed, and all). And it's Angel! And he's half on the toilet lid, half on the vanity, and he joggles me again and again. And then, of course, there's nothing to do but pick him up, and he melts in my arms and purrs... And purrs. And purrs. And no amount of sweet talk or petting seems to bore him! I keep thinking, any minute now he'll start to squirm and wiggle down, but nope, it doesn't happen. What's a poor besotted human to do??
Of Course
And of course, of course, of course! This is not exactly an original post, but - if the camera is unavailable, they go out of their way to be cute and adorable... Is there an up side to this? Are they saying, For your eyes only, Mom?
